Under assignment from the Minister of Defense, the two embark on a mission to the astonishing city of Alpha—an ever-expanding metropolis where species from all over the universe have converged over centuries to share knowledge, intelligence and cultures with each other. There is a mystery at the center of Alpha, a dark force which threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets, and Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.

DIVERSITY IS A CODE WORD FOR ANTI-WHITE. MULTICULTURALISM IS A PIPE DREAM. IT'S OKAY TO BE WHITE!

I was hoping the reviews were negative because they felt like it was a rehash of a Fifth Element-type story but no...it was pretty bad. The actors both seemed miscast for the parts (a bit young for marriage proposals) and the dialogue was not very clever. The music, which was such a great part of the Fifth Element, felt like it was regurgitated from something I ate last Thanksgiving. The CGI was fine but honestly, it came nowhere close to save the movie. I could certainly recommend renting it but for me I had to watch it over two nights.

If there is a segment of the population who are supposed to relate to these main characters, please keep me far, far away from them. Unlikeable spoiled brats. The kind who usually get their "comeuppance" in movies...but are for some reason the heroes in this movie. At first I thought the cheap looks and acting were because it was a kids movie...but nope, too much swearing and sexual refernce to be a kids movie. So...just a crappy movie with smug, unlikeable "heroes". First sci-fi distraction I actually wish I hadn't watched. I was just too annoyed by the brats to enjoy the movie.

This movie is totally PC (Piece of Crap). The characters can never develop because all the politically correct messaging takes priority. While Delevingne makes for some pretty good eye candy, and not totally aweful acting, Valerian is a total jerk. Of course, the there is the victim group which seems to be a people of the rainbow who are young, healthy, and forgiving. Needless to say, humans are evil species here. Now I need to go take a shower to wash this movie off me. This movie is nothing like The 13th Element.
